Embedded IT recruiter - who is he and what value does he bring to the organization?

Embedded recruitment model is an increasingly popular method of operation of companies specialized in IT recruitment - it is particularly visible in highly developed countries such as selected EU member states as well as the USA, Canada or UK. This is related to the fact that emerging technology companies looking for fast, high-quality IT recruitment services at a predetermined price. These companies, on the one hand, receive extensive financial support thanks to the funds investing in them, and on the other hand, they have to face the lack of 'hands to work', which makes it very difficult to scale their business. A specialized company operating in the embedded recruitment model comes to the rescue, providing a Talent Acquisition specialist on an on demand basis.

Who is an embedded recruiter?

'Built-in recruiter', because this is how the term should be translated, is a person or a whole team of specialists operating in the field of IT recruitment - from building processes, to choosing the right tools (e.g. ATS), contacting stakeholders, to searching for and hiring IT specialists. The purpose of the work of the recruiter working 'on-site' at the client's is to quickly scale his business by employing the required number of new people in the time specified in the contract (usually contracts lasting several months). The whole cooperation is usually based on a subscription model where the client pays a fixed monthly amount for a specialized person and, after achieving a specific goal, terminates or extends the contract by assuming new KPI's.

Who is embedded recruitment for?

'Built-in recruiter' or a team of recruiters is a solution for companies that want to develop quickly, but have a big problem in cooperation with traditional employment agencies, which, despite the competitive success fee model, are not able to operate with such effectiveness a dedicated team devoted to full time. In addition, embedded recruitment is a form of cooperation in which the "subscribed" Talent Acquisition Partner penetrates the company's structures, has contact with stakeholders, e.g. Hiring Managers, so it is able to react quickly, eliminate elements blocking the process along the way and keep up to date with all organizational changes.

What are the main benefits of the embedded model?

Thanks to the fact that Talent Acquisition Partner works on-site and is inside the organization for which he recruits, he has many tools at his disposal and, above all, saves time, which a typical agency cannot save because it does not know the situation inside the company. In addition, unlike brokerage agencies, TAP supports only one client at a time and is dedicated to full-time work. The success fee agency model is therefore often ~50% more expensive if we are talking about several recruitments a month. In addition, the recruitment itself is ~3 times faster. An additional advantage of cooperation based on the embedded model is the jointly developed strategy - thanks to this, the company and TAP maintain consistency in the implementation of tasks and have clearly defined priorities.

Summary: Embedded recruitment is an interesting model of cooperation based on the increasingly popular subscription model. However, this is not an ideal solution for every company struggling to find the right IT specialists. Especially in a situation where the issues of business scalability are not a priority, and the needs themselves are one recruitment a month, it may turn out that this model will not work well and it is better to focus on cooperation with an agency offering direct/executive search services based on remuneration dependent on success.
